JT welcomes new Group HR Director

JT has announced the appointment of Jo Waring-Hockley as Human Resources Director.

Jo brings over 28 years of HR experience to the Channel Islands’ leading telecommunications provider. Previously Human Resources Director at Jersey Electricity, she has worked in a number of sectors in the UK and internationally, including engineering, transport, retail and communications.

In her new role at JT, Jo will oversee the resourcing strategy; work alongside the executive team on strategic planning; help enhance the experience of customers, and serve as a link between the company’s management and its 600+ employees. Her international experience will be especially important as JT continues to grow worldwide. Today, over 60 per cent of JT’s revenue comes from outside of Jersey.

JT Chief Executive Officer Graeme Millar said: “I am delighted to welcome someone of Jo’s calibre to JT. Her broad experience across a variety of sectors, countries and different business types makes her a perfect fit for the Group, which is expanding internationally so revenues can be reinvested into our Channel Island networks. With a strong track record of developing HR strategies to deliver commercial solutions to support business imperatives, growth and change, Jo will be a huge asset to the whole JT family.

“‘Being there for our customers and putting their needs first is at the heart of what we do, and Jo will play a key role in helping us maintain that promise to our customers.”

Jo said: “It’s an exciting time to be joining JT, as the company expands its fibre network across the Channel Islands and invests in future technology, such as the Internet of Things. This role gives me the opportunity to develop my own skills in a forward-thinking environment, where I can use my experience, leadership skills and industry knowledge to enhance existing staff programmes and introduce new ones.

“Although JT is at the cutting edge of technological developments, its future will ultimately be built on the quality of its people and the experience they give customers, and I’m looking forward to playing my part in developing JT’s essential human capital.”

Jo Waring-Hockley has a BA Hons in History and Post Grad MA in Executive Coaching. She is a member of a number of professional bodies including the Fellow Institute of Directors, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and the British Psychological Society.
