JT is once again proud to sponsor the Institute of Directors Guernsey Winter Seminar series, which begins on Friday 4 November. The first seminar will be held at 12.30pm at the Digital Greenhouse. The title of the seminar will be ‘Airlinks for Business’ and there will be a panel consisting of Lyndon Trott, Vice-President of the Policy and Resources Committee, Aurigny Chairman Andrew Haining, and businessman and former politician Stuart Falla.
JT has reinforced its strategic commitment to grow internationally by signing a partnership agreement with a Copenhagen-based company that is at the leading edge of developing telecommunications software systems.
NeoConsult has particular expertise in the ‘Internet of Things’ (IoT), which is the networking of smart devices so that they communicate automatically and seamlessly with each other. Through this partnership, JT is gaining industry-leading software engineering capability, allowing the company to continue to innovate in the IoT environment.
The latest in the series of four JT sponsored IoD Jersey lunch clubs is taking place with one of Guernsey’s senior politicians, Deputy Gavin St Pier, President of Policy and Resources for the States of Guernsey, speaking to the IoD members about his new role and will share his views on inter-island cooperation under the topic ‘Working better together’, a hot subject amid the recent EU referendum result.
This session will also be taking place at The Grand Hotel & Spa from 12pm to 2pm on 18th October and tickets are available via the IoD Jersey website.
With the wider availability of fibre-optic broadband and superfast 4G mobile across the Channel Islands, businesses now have access to the wider benefits that Cloud based technology can bring to their day-to-day communications. One such business solution that JT has recently launched for customers is a technologically-advanced Cloud based business phone system.
JT’s NEW Cloud PBX solution represents the next generation of cloud hosted communication equipment which is now rapidly replacing the traditional on-premises ‘private branch exchange’ type systems and is also powered from an innovative mobile app.
JT is one of three finalists in the ‘Engineering Project of the Year’ category at this year’s Guernsey Construction Awards, which will be held at Beau Sejour on Friday 14 October.
The shortlisting relates to two key projects that JT has undertaken to improve connectivity in Guernsey. The first was a three-year project, completed last December, involving connecting 46 States of Guernsey buildings to JT’s fibre-optic network, and 120 sites to an MPLS* Wide Area Network.
