JT has announced its support for the Jersey branch of the Institute of Directors (IoD) by sponsoring the final five Lunch Clubs in 2016.
The first event is set to take place on 12 July at The Grand Hotel, Jersey with guest speaker Deputy Gavin St Pier, President of Policy and Resources for the States of Guernsey. Deputy St Pier will be speaking to the IoD members about his new role and will share his views on inter-island co-operation under the topic ‘Working better together’, a hot topic amid the recent EU referendum result.
For the last four months, hundreds of Channel Islanders have been putting the new 4G mobile networks to the test and the results show that JT’s network delivers the fastest average mobile broadband speeds across the Islands.
In Jersey, 580 validated speed tests were carried out from 16th May to 26th June using an independent, accredited speed test app. The results showed that JT’s 4G network delivered an average speed of 52.66Mbps and superfast top speeds of more than 200Mps. This average speed was then compared against the other Jersey network speeds logged during the testing period, confirming that JT’s average network speed is the fastest in Jersey.
Jersey based digital media company Senergy Digital have secured a partnership with the tourism marketing office, Visit Jersey to promote the event and JT, the Island’s primary telecoms operator, to deliver first-class digital streaming of the 2016 Bloch Dance World Cup to a worldwide audience.
The online service, free-to-view, will be available on any device. Additional video content will document the incredible excitement of the event and will be broadcast on the stream and through social media channels.
JT Group today publishes its Annual Review for 2015, showing a 26% increase in turnover on the previous year, driven mainly by the growth of the business outside of the Channel Islands.
2015 was a strong year which saw an increase on the previous year in both overall revenue and gross profit, enabling JT to deliver a healthy dividend back to its ultimate owners, the people of Jersey. Gross profit increased by 3% (to £90.1m), and the dividend paid to the States of Jersey increased by more than 250% from £1.6m to £4.1m.
The year saw considerable improvement in feedback from JT customers, as measured by both CICRA and JT’s own surveys. It was also the year when JT supported major community events, such as the 16th NatWest Island Games by providing extensive free Wi-Fi access, free SIM cards for every competitor visiting the Island, and creating fibre-optic broadband infrastructure in Howard Davis Park ready for future events.
JT has appointed Craig Samuel to the newly created position of Senior Vice President (JT Americas) to take responsibility for JT’s delivery of innovative wholesale products and services to its existing American customer base.
JT are pleased to announce that once again they are supporting The Lord’s Taverners annual Summer Celebrity Cricket weekend, which is organised to raise funds for worthy sporting projects in the local community.
The charity weekend, taking place from Friday 24th June to Sunday 26th June, has become well known as one of the main highlights of the Bailiwick’s summer sporting social calendar. Events will culminate with the popular Celebrity Cricket match in Herm on the Sunday.
