Chief Minister Ian Gorst will be talking to business leaders in Jersey on Thursday 15 December, at the last Institute of Directors’ lunch for the year, sponsored by JT.
Senator Gorst’s talk is titled ‘A review of 2016 and the challenges facing Jersey in 2017’ and will take place at The Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa in St Helier. The lunch will take place between 12 pm and 2 pm.
Senator Gorst was first elected to the States as a Deputy of St Clement in 2005 and re-elected in 2008. He moved to the Senatorial benches three years later and was appointed Chief Minister in November 2011. He was re-elected both as a Senator and Chief Minister in 2014. As Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Senator Gorst’s responsibilities include States’ strategic and long-term planning, including population policy; the States Employment Board; constitutional affairs, including safeguarding human rights and constitutional reform; justice policy and resources, legal services; and financial services, the digital sector as well as competition and innovation policies.
