Kate Marshall Head of Guernsey Enterprise

Q1. What’s your role?

I am responsible for Enterprise Sales in Guernsey overseeing the entire sales development process, including recruitment, negotiation and the eventual closing of the deal. We have a highly motivated and dedicated team and a great support network of engineers, project managers and IT specialists.

Q2. Piece of Tech you can’t live without?

Home Wi-Fi, as a family of 4 it’s our source of news, entertainment and connection to friends and family.

Q3. What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

Cycling, entertaining at home, and spending time with family and friends.

Conor Smith Account Manager

Q1. What’s your role?

As a Business Account Manager, I work with our customers to tailor products and services to suit their growth plans, it’s important to us that what we deliver is future proof, from network infrastructure to cybersecurity.

Q2. What did you want to grow up to be when you were a kid?

An RAF pilot – I’ve always loved planes and grew up listening to my Grandad’s stories about being an Aeromechanical Engineer in the RAF.

Q3. What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

Running, paddle boarding, skiing, travelling.

Lauren De Sousa Account Executive

Q1. What’s your role?

I support our Account Managers and their customers, working on both internal and external projects as part of our wider Business and Corporate Support Teams.

Q2. Piece of Tech you can’t live without?

My Apple Smartwatch, it’s great for tracking my exercise, steps, setting timers (which I do a lot when cooking) and can even play a sound to help you find your iPhone if you’ve misplaced it.

Q3. Who would you most like to swap places with for the day, and why?

Not a whom but a what – I would love to be a bird for a day and be able to fly and go wherever I want, when I want.

Chris Phillips Account Manager

Q1. What’s the most exciting thing you’re working on right now?

We’ve got some really large-scale projects going on across multiple industry sectors, from structured cabling to full-fibre installation and seeing it all coming together and changing how people interact is just amazing.

Q2. Piece of Tech you can’t live without?

My Fitness tracker, it reminds me to look after myself by using sensors to measure how much or how little I’m doing.

Q3. What did you want to grow up to be when you were a kid?

I always wanted to be a professional footballer, but that didn’t quite work out for me.

Sami Swarbrick Account Executive

Q1. What’s your role?

I look after 280 small to medium sized enterprise customers, working with them to identify digital solutions to improve their business. To deliver that, I work closely with our engineers to ensure they have all the information required to successfully install new products and services and I remain part of the process from start to finish.

Q2. Who would you most like to swap places with for the day, and why?

Elon Musk without a doubt. I am fascinated with space exploration and love what SpaceX is achieving. I also love the Tesla cars; so if I was Elon, I could just gift myself one.

Q3. What in your opinion is the next big Tech device?

I’m super excited about the upcoming Vision Pro, Apples first VR headset. It’s a bit pricey but looks technically innovative – I can’t wait to try one.

Sunny Ajanaku Design & Innovation Manager

Q1. What’s your role?

I manage a team of consultants across the CI, providing consultancy services on secure network connectivity, infrastructure and Cloud, Unified Comms and cybersecurity.

Q2. Piece of Tech you can’t live without?

Bluetooth, being able to connect without wires makes everything so easy and with the technology surrounding Bluetooth modules continuously evolving, who knows what Bluetooth will offer us in ten years’ time.

Q3. What did you want to grow up to be when you were a kid?

When I was really young, I wanted to be a pilot, then realised I’m not a fan of heights. That changed to wanting to be a doctor because I was intrigued by the way the human body functioned but then engineering called, not surprising as my Dad was a telecoms engineer. Turns out I’m more intrigued about how machines function.

Wayne O’Regan Planning Officer

Q1. What’s your role?

I look after the JT fibre and duct network throughout the island, co-ordinating work with other organisations to minimise disruption. I also support the team that oversee our sub-sea cables between Guernsey and the UK, and I am a qualified telecoms climber, which means I can carry out work at heights, on rooftops and masts, so never a dull day in my world.

Q2. What did you want to grow up to be when you were a kid?

Truthfully I had no idea, it wasn’t until I was in my 20’s that I knew what I wanted to do, and I get to do it every day now.

Q3. Piece of Tech you can’t live without?

My Gaming PC, if I’m not at work or out playing Softball I am on my PC unwinding.

Maria Falk Account Executive Team Leader

Q1. What’s the most exciting thing you’re working on right now?

I’m assisting on a large-scale decommissioning project seeing some of our old legacy products and services being phased out in favour of new technology. It’s quite complex and we’re taking great care to work with customers to make sure we factor in their needs.

Q2. What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

Spending time with my kids, partner and friends.

Q3. What in your opinion is the next big Tech trend?

Not everyone is tech savvy, but everyone is active online, so I see an increase in online experience simplification and usability– keeping it simple is now a big thing.
